I specialize in treating survivors of interpersonal trauma, which is trauma that happens at the hands of another person. Examples of interpersonal trauma include:

  • Physical, sexual, or emotional abuse in childhood
  • Rape or sexual assault
  • Domestic violence (physical, sexual, and/OR emotional abuse in an initimate relationship)
  • Domestic violence witnessed in childhood

It is not uncommon to minimize the impact of abuse, or to want to simply "forget" it and "move on." But almost always, it's not that easy, and the impact of trauma can be far-reaching. The problems associated with interpersonal trauma are significant ones:

  • Complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Borderline personality disorder
  • Attachment disorders
  • Difficulty with interpersonal relationships
  • Difficulty regulating emotion
  • Self-harm or suicidal ideation
  • Disordered eating
  • Addictions

I have years of experience treating clients suffering from the lasting effects of abuse, including all of the symptoms described above. Although I know it may seem impossible to heal the wounds of trauma, it isn't. You CAN feel better, and we can work together to make it happen.
